Paved the way

My favorite mornings are ones spent talking on the radio with my dad (you can listen to him weekday mornings on ESPN 93.5 from 7-9am). It is such a joy to get to learn from him. Most mornings when I am on-air with him, we chat about relevant topics, controversies and topics that expert guests talk about, and then of course we do sports and weather. When I come in, he writes out the sports report that he wants me to read for that day. When he's writing the script, he knows what words and names will make me stumble. So he phonetically spells those particular names and writes out some symbols or words in a way he knows I will understand it. He sets me up for success. He puts in the extra effort to make sure I can put my best food forward. Our Heavenly Father does the same thing for us. When He crafts out each day, He knows what will trip us up. For our sake, He spells out everything in a way He knows we will understand. He provides alternatives and avenues that ensure our best interest. He goes the extra mile to make sure we can put our best foot forward by the way He equips us and prepares the way before us. He sets us up for success. Let's pray for a heart postured to recognize all the ways our Heavenly Father is constantly filling in the gaps and spelling out the places He knows will cause us to stumble. You do not have to ever worry about being sufficient on your own, He is preparing the way before you. He is going the extra mile to set you up for success. "I will go before you and make the rough places smooth" Isaiah 45:2 "For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11 "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28 "The LORD replied, "Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn't believe even if someone told you about it." Habakkuk 1:5 He is setting you up for success and has already filled in all the gaps that could risk stumbling. He has made the way smooth before us. Let's learn to recognize and rejoice over the rough places He has made smooth.
