The wagon

Trying to live as part of the world and as a child of the King, a follower of Jesus, is like trying to pull an overflowing, over-sized, wobbly wagon along a narrow path. It just slows you down and the weight often pulls you off course. Or we lose things along the way and don’t want to move forward without them when really your load is only being lightened.
While we’re in the world, all we see is the value of everything in our wagon. We believe it makes up who we are. But all of Heaven is leaning over the railings cheering you on to keep your eyes on what’s ahead. They see how nothing but what’s ahead matters anymore...no treasure or accomplishment or status is worth the weight and wobble keeping you from the narrow path. What's behind will slow you down and soon fade away, what's ahead leads
to the Kingdom that stands now and forever more.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:21
“No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.”
2 Timothy 2:4
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
Colossians 3:2
What’s in your wagon? What’s slowing you down and pulling you off course?
